High Point Market Spring tour logo

Have you heard the wonderful news? We’ve been selected to be on the High Point Market Design Bloggers Tour for Spring 2019! This will be our second year on the tour (and our fifth year in attendance) and we couldn’t be more excited.

If you’ve been reading our blog for a while, you may remember some of our posts from last year. We did a “Fresh From High Point Market” post where we told you all about the hottest trends, and also wrote about the design inspiration we found there.

Being on the Design Bloggers Tour really allows us to see High Point through different eyes. We love being able to have such exposure to different brands for the first time, and having this opportunity to share what’s big and fresh and exciting in the design world with you.

We are beyond delighted to have been invited back for a second time.

“I’m new here – what is High Point?”

I’m so glad you asked! High Point Market is a biannual event for the home furnishings industry. It’s the meeting place of tens of thousands of retailers from more than 100 countries, and a massive celebration of beautiful furniture and design.

Cynthia Rowley once described it as the “fashion week for furniture”, and I think that’s pretty accurate.

High Point is a great chance for us to get up close and personal with some of favorite brands and discover new furniture that we might otherwise only see in photos. Seeing these pieces in person gives us a chance to see how they would work in a space and get an idea of their quality. Plus we get to report back to all of you on some of the latest trends!

Busy as bees

High Point is always a whirlwind of excitement, and even more so when you’re part of the Design Bloggers Tour. Last year, we were on our feet all day and constantly popping in and out of showrooms. It’s all very thrilling and so much fun – a little bit like Disney World for grown ups. At least, grown ups like Matt and I who love all things interior design.

We love the fast paced nature of the tour and being able to test products and see what’s new to the market and the industry. It also helps us keep our fingers on the pulse of what’s up and coming in the design industry… whether that’s trends or more functional things.

Just as an example, last year we discovered Crypton fabrics, which are virtually spill proof. Performance fabrics have been a huge thing for us ever since.

An incredible Crypton Performance Fabric demo from last year’s Market.

There’s a whole lot of things that happen within the design industry, and being part of the Design Bloggers Tour allows us to understand it on a deeper level by getting more of an upfront view to it all. And then we get to come back and share it with you!

And what’s Market without friends?

While one of the highlights of last year’s tour was of course being introduced to new brands, Matt and I also really loved getting to know some of the other bloggers on the tour. Many of them have become good friends of ours, and some have even come to visit us here in Santa Fe!

This was a really cool “plus” of being on the High Point Design Bloggers Tour last year, and we can’t wait to do it all again. After all, what’s design Disney World without your design besties?

See you soon!

This year’s Spring Market runs from April 6-10. Be sure to follow us on Instagram to get the inside scoop as it’s all going down, and then be sure to check back to our blog in the weeks following to see what we loved.

As always, you can subscribe to our updates by using the form at the bottom of this post. We know you wouldn’t want to miss anything 😉

We’ll report back to you soon!
