How To Make a Beautiful Cheese Board

It’s always the right time for a cheese board I say. Cheese boards are my JAM! They are delicious, they are impressive, and they are crazy easy to put together. Perfect for holidays, or ladies nights, or everyday entertaining! Cheese boards are a fun, versatile, delicious way to spice up any gathering! We assembled this beautiful cheese board for a pop up event we have at French and French Shop, and it was a major success! Have you ever wondered how to put together your own beautiful cheese board? It’s actually quite easy! The thing I love about a good cheese board, is that there is something for everyone. From different types of cheeses to crackers to cured meats to fruit, and the best cheese boards leave no one behind. Here is how to assemble a beautiful cheese board:

Step 1:

Find a fun board! We used a vintage dough board from France, but you can get really creative with it! Add fun bowls on top too!

Step 2:

Gather all your food! For this step, we went to our local Trader Joe’s, which is a great way to find unique cheese and seasonal fruits! And all for a great price point!

Step 3:

Assemble! This is where it gets really fun... and you get the opportunity to be creative and style it out. If you ever had dreams of becoming a food stylist, nows your chance to shine bright!

We used:

Grapefruit, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, almonds, prosciutto, dried salami, an assortment of crackers, and lastly, five different types of cheeses.

One important tip to remember

Cheese tastes so much better at room temperature. I have heard, you should pull the cheese out of the fridge at least one hour before serving (but don’t unwrap quite yet so it doesn’t dry out.) At room temperature, the aromatics and complex flavors of cheese are much more realized. And taste so much better! To assemble the cheese board, I usually allow 1 hour. First, pulling the cheeses out and letting them rest (still wrapped in their packages), while I gather all the rest of the ingredients. I’ll begin arranging the board about 30 minutes before guests arrive, so the cheeses will have been out of the fridge for about one hour or so. Adding the meats about ten to twenty minutes before serving. And there you have it folks, how to assemble a beautiful cheese board in three easy steps! I hope you enjoyed this, I know I did!
