Interior Design for a Cause
I’m thrilled to share this sneak preview with you of ShowHouse Santa Fe 2016. Every year, designers throughout the region collaborate on creating an over-the-top showhouse that invites the visitor to encounter interior design in a different way. Below is a phenomenal video by Bill Stengel of the before, process and after of last years room.
The ShowHouse isn’t meant to be a display of a typical house you’d live in; instead, it’s meant to be super showy and over-the-top. This year, over twenty-five interior designers were involved in the creation of the house: each designer or design team taking a different room, and creating the space with a theme in mind.
ShowHouse Santa Fe 2016: “Everything Old is New Again” Mexico
This year’s theme examines the history, cultures and influences of Old Mexico and New Mexico.
Matt and I both took rooms this year. Matt was in charge of the keyhole room – a media room that offers a perspective on the history of this area beginning with the Pueblo revolt. Here’s the before shot: to see the after, you’ll have to see in person at ShowHouse!I created the front entry portal, which has the enigmatic and dynamic Frida Kahlo as the inspiration for my design. You can see a before-and-after sneak peek below.
And if you’re in need of an interior designer, we’re offering a free fabric scheme to those that make an appointment with us at ShowHouse!
Interior Design for a Cause: Dollars4Schools Santa Fe
ShowHouse Santa Fe was very proud to have raised over $30,000.00 in 2015 for Dollars4Schools, a local nonprofit committed to raising money for Santa Fe Public Schools. With the proceeds from this event, Dollars4Schools funds art, reading, and engineering programs for underfunded local schools. They also provide backpacks of school supplies for children who are in need.
Last year was the FIRST year Dollars4Schools that was able to fulfill every request for assistance.
I hope that, with your generosity, we can make that happen again. ShowHouse Santa Fe 2016 will kick off events this Friday with a Fiesta Gala and Preview of the Home. Tickets are available here.
The ShowHouse will be open the next two Saturdays and Sundays from 11-6pm and 11-4pm. You can purchase tickets here.
