The Whimsical Drawing Room offers a vibrant reinterpretation of a traditional drawing room, blending American heritage with contemporary design. At its heart is a custom hand-painted mural by Gracie Studio, depicting an early American landscape in a soft yet vivid palette of blues, greens, and earth tones, set against an antiqued background. Millwork and trim in Benjamin Moore’s "Coats of Arms," a smoky teal, create a bold contrast and add depth to the space.
Sanderson’s Regency Aperigon fabric in Porcelain/Chamomile—a collaboration with London-based couture designer Giles Deacon—tents the ceiling with a classic stripe in a satin sheen, subtly infused with Ancient Greek geometric influences. This fabric also upholsters the sofa from Coley Home, creating a seamless blend of old and new. Complementary fabrics adorn the banquettes and accent chairs, with slate blue mohair on the chairs and a white linen blend with bay blue welts on the banquettes. A mix-and-match arrangement of mohair-upholstered dining chairs adds a touch of playful elegance to the dining table.
Case goods and table furniture from Arteriors bring a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern design, while abstract art from Co.Collect by artist Sherron Francis introduces a contemporary edge, creating a dynamic contrast with the traditional mural. The Whimsical Drawing Room is a celebration of design, where tradition meets modernity in a space that is both inviting and exuberant, ideal for lively gatherings.
