Santa Fe Interior Design
Santa Fe is where our heart is. Our family and friends live here as well as all of the talented artisans we use. It’s our life. Our home has sweeping views of the Jemez, Sangre de Cristos and Cerrillos Hills. We go to sleep with the twinkling lights of Santa Fe in the distance and we wake up to the gorgeous NM sunrise spilling through the Ortiz Mountains. It’s a beautiful life and one that we cherish deeply. We’re blessed to be able to create homes for clients in this enchanted place and we are always figuring out how to cross the interior design bridge of creating currency out of the traditional idea of Santa Fe style. It’s a fun challenge and one we love. The iconic Georgia O’Keefe did it well. The sparse, monastic feel, meets modern look is so beautiful and calming:
Santa Fe Interior Design is such a great foundation. The adobe homes are full of kiva fireplaces, vigas and plaster walls. Decades of stories live within the spaces, and you can feel it in the homes. In contrast to the historic Santa Fe homes, we are currently working with a family north of Santa Fe who owns a beautiful modern home where we are implementing a fun, monastic, sparse Santa Fe inspired design:
What is so interesting and creatively nurturing about design here is how vast it is. This modern home with stark white beautifully plastered walls is being given it’s mild Santa Fe “tip of the hat”, and the traditional adobes sometimes get a modernized look, it just depends on the family. For us, our home is always in transition. It’s our test pad, where we can be most creative and where we do the figuring out. We decided to bring in the feeling of the area by keeping it eclectic, with touches of rusticity and local art. For us, that is what Santa Fe Interior Design is about, using local art and artisans to create an enchanting, authentic home.
